HOW TO KNOW AND TRACK THE STATUS OF YOUR COURT CASES ONLINE | E-COURTS APP

In recent years, our Courts as well as our Governments have really tried hard to digitize public information for easy access to the people of the country. Now we can gather information while sitting at our home or workplace within seconds.

As a practicing advocate, we tend to hear this from people regularly that they are not aware of what’s going on with their case. They don’t even know the dates of their previous or next hearings. This post is to brief the common people as to how they themselves can keep a track and know the current status of their case whether pending or disposed across all lower Courts and High Courts of the country.

The process is really easy and accessible. You have to download ‘eCourts Services’ app on your android or iphone.

  1. Once the application is downloaded, you will have to go to the ‘Case Status’ option.
  2. Fill in the name of your state and district right after moving into the ‘Case Status’ window.
  3. You will then find many options such as ‘Case Number, Party Name, Filing Number, FIR Number, Advocate’s Name, Act, Case Type, Caveat, and Pre-Trial Application’.
  4. By filling any one of the above mentioned options correctly, you will further see a window containing all the cases in the name of the particular party or advocate or FIR etc.
  5. By selecting the case, you will come across all the information relating to that case such as date of institution of case, the name of advocates of both sides, the next date of hearing, orders and judgement of the court etc.
  6. You can also save your case by clicking at ‘Add Case’ option in ‘My Cases’ for faster access.

The same process may also be carried out on the official website ‘ecourts.gov.in‘.
